First, thank you for joining me on this wild ride! š Iām thrilled to have you along as I dive headfirst into sharing the quirky, 𤣠hilarious, and sometimes downright strange stories that make life so much fun.šš» Speaking of wild rides, I'd love to tell you how I got here. Nearly twenty years ago, I was minding my own (somewhat dull) business as an insurance underwriter when my life took a crazy turnāand not the fun kind where you scream your lungs out š¢ on a roller coaster while making regrettable facial expressions. š²š± No, this was more like being strapped into one of those teacup rides with no way to stop the spinning. I was perfectly healthy when, seemingly out of nowhere, I was hit with symptoms like brain fog, vertigo, panic attacks, and anxiety so bad I felt like a nervous hummingbird who had chugged a double espresso. No kidding. All. The. Time. It was terrifying because I knew something was wrong, and honestly, I thought maybe my time was up. It was that bad. š„ŗ But doctor after doctor ran test after test, and relying only on how I looked on paper, proclaimed that I was fine; it was stress or hormonal or the worst one, itās all in your head. I could see the inscription on my gravestone: āHere Lies Karla. Meh, It Wasnāt Serious.ā But hereās the thingāI donāt give up easily. I knew these symptoms were real. So, I dug in, started reading everything I could, and finally, after much personal research and trial and error, uncovered that, for me, food sensitivities were the sneaky culprits. (Remember, this was 20 years ago. That kind of knowledge wasn't yet mainstream). Anyway, I booted gluten, dairy protein, and soy from my plate and out of my system, and wouldnāt you know it, I started to feel human again! The knowledge I gained along the way was tremendous. And that was just the beginning.
